Colin Allred’s background and political career

Colin Allred is an American politician and civil rights attorney who was born on April 15, 1983. He was raised by a single mother who was a Dallas public school teacher and attended Hillcrest High School, where he was the class president. Allred earned a full-ride football scholarship to Baylor University and later deferred his acceptance to attend law school to play in the NFL. He played as a linebacker for five seasons before sustaining a career-ending injury, which led him to pursue a career as a civil rights attorney.
